- African fintech infrastructure platform Daya has integrated Sui Network to deploy protocol-level gasless stablecoin transfers.

The Sui Foundation announced that Daya, an African financial infrastructure platform, has integrated the Sui Network to enable gasless stablecoin transfers for businesses across the continent.
The integration is live in Nigeria across the Daya Ecosystem, including Daya Business, Daya Pro, and Daya APIs. Daya plans to expand into other large crypto markets within the continent, including Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa.
Daya and Sui are Streamlining Corporate Stablecoin Settlements
According to the announcement, Daya will leverage Sui’s protocol-level gasless stablecoin mechanism. When Sui launched this feature earlier in May, it described it as a way to “remove one of the biggest friction points in blockchain-based payments.”
Sui’s gasless stablecoin transfer feature allows a business to send eligible stablecoins without first acquiring or holding SUI, the network’s native token, to cover transaction costs.
Daya co-founder and CEO Tomiwa and “Aleph” Lasebikan outline the benefits for businesses. “We’re excited to partner with Sui because it means real businesses across Africa can move stablecoins without paying a cent in fees.”
He added, “Businesses can send stablecoins without needing to acquire, hold, or even understand a native network token. That’s the kind of user experience required to bring stablecoin-powered payments to millions of African businesses.”
Daya’s Expanding Multi-chain Ecosystem
Within the last year, Daya has taken various steps to build multi-chain payment rails for African businesses and a broader financial ecosystem.
The Lagos-based startup launched a pilot stablecoin-powered initiative in June this year with Aptos and Hashkey MENA; the same month, it closed an oversubscribed $2.4 million pre-seed round.
In July, Daya announced Daya Stocks, opening the door to tokenised US stock trading in Africa. This month, Daya also integrated Tempo as a new settlement rail for cross-border payments.
For Sui, this follows an earlier partnership with Paga, deepening the company’s footprint in Nigeria. Adeniyi Abiodun, co-founder and CPO of Mysten Labs, the original contributor to Sui, described Daya as “building the financial engine African businesses need” and added that “Sui is proud to help power it.”
For Sui, Daya puts their gasless stablecoin transfer feature “to work for real businesses,” and together, they “can deliver financial products that simply feel fast, reliable and global.”
