Why Africa’s Crypto Story Must Be Told Now
Crypto Africa answers that question with every story, news brief, feature, op-ed, editorial, interview and press release.
Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency turned 17 years old in January, if we consider the launch of Bitcoin in January 2009 as the official start of what has become one of the most disruptive technologies in the past decades.
We have witnessed the multiple rises and falls of BTC, Altcoins, and Memecoins. We saw NFTs hit a fever-dream level of popularity, then crash just as fast. DeFi, Web3, and Blockchain have undergone structural and cultural shifts. And now, AI.
Seeing how far all of these have come, what is Africa’s place in it? This is not a rhetorical or philosophical question. It is one that needs answers covering the people, the projects, the numbers, the data, the big picture, and the small detail.
What we aim to do with Crypto Africa is answer that question with every story, news brief, feature, op-ed, editorial, interview, and press release. Authentic reporting that helps you understand and track the African ecosystem as a standalone, parallel, and in tandem with the global ecosystem.
The road ahead is long, and the work is heavy and complex, like the African continent, but we are confident in our ability to go the distance. And, we invite you to join us by reading, sharing, quoting, and referring us in the spaces that matter, and to the people who need what we offer – every trader, investor, and contributor to the African cryptocurrency economy.
